Dr. Rabichandra Singh Elangbam is an academician who has dedicated lifelong learnings in Economics, with specialization in Labour economics and Econometrics. Graduated in Economics honors from Delhi University and completed Masters and Ph.D from the Department of Economics, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Vadodara. His area of research includes but not restricted to labour issues in the North Eastern Region of India. He has also worked in other  development issues. He has contributed his expertise in projects and published 13 papers in international and national journals of repute and a book. He has also presented papers at international and national level in and outside the country.

Professional or Industrial Experience 

Prior to joining Navrachana University he has been teaching as Temporary Assistant professor in the Faculty of Commerce, The Maharaja University of Baroda.

  • Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Business and trade, Economic and Business Environment, Indian Economy and Public Policy 
  • Free elective courses such as Strategy of Pricing, Economics of Everyday, International Relations are also taught with innovative teaching methods

Area of Expertise and Research 

  • His research primarily focusses on unemployment issues in the North East Region of India. During his PhD research primary surveyed was conducted to assess the types of unemployment/employment with respect to socio-economic indicators. 
  • Currently apart from teaching he is doing a project on social development issues under NUV SEED GRANT “Income scenario and accessibility to social protection of informal workers in the city of Vadodara”. (August 2023- present)
