Curriculum of Civil Engineering is updated every year passing through Academic advisory board and Academic council. It is made with respect to the current practices in wider area in Civil Engineering and most important all fundamental and basic core courses covered. More than around 12 to 15 courses are offered as an elective course which are choice-based students to take up. Also, students are having courses on communication skills, humanities and choice based interdisciplinary courses are offered for their overall personality development.
Culture is such that students are encouraged to show the enthusiastic in learning the core subjects, they are made independent learners and faculty and staff is supporting and helping their best in overall development. One to one interaction with individual Faculty and open-door policy of the faculty further develops motivation and interest among students in learning process.
All faculty are permanent in Civil Engineering, most of them are working here since the inception of the program, in addition, there are academic associates and laboratory assistant and they are also permanent staff members for the support. Some of the academic associates are our own NUV students also. Our most of the faculty are PhD or pursuing PhD from reputed placed from IITs and NITs. They have now enough of experience in teaching learning and research to demonstrate the best of their knowledge in the required field.
We have full-fledged training and placement center who is working towards placement, many industries approach us in hiring our students, our students are knowledgabe and perform better, looking to their performance during internship (Credited) in training, they develop contacts. Students are also introduced many leading practitioners and constlants through guest lectures which helps in building the contacts which helps in getting the job. Many of our students also choose to do higher studies for acquiring advanced knowledge as Civil Engineering is a branch where lot of advancement has happened, our students do choose their interest according to the area in which they want to develop further.
Yes.
Yes, NUV has sport facility, our students are encouraged to take participation in many University, state level and national level tournament and students are encouraged to show their talent in sports and other extracurricular activities.
Yes, in addition there is also a criterion of 80 % attendance fulfills the regular class happening requirement.
We have a continuous assessment pattern of examination. From the last couple of years, NUV has started external component for checking the quality and auditing of the the exam system.
Students are given, assignments, projects, and quizzes on regular basis to keep on check their ability of learning and demonstrating the knowledge in the required subjects.
Yes, we do have exclusive projects starting from III year and students present the innovative work and ideas of their work, they are also given chance to choose their topic of interest in the contemporary fields of Civil Engineering. Some are even doing research based and interdisciplinary projects. University is also having the interdisciplinary social innovation project KHOJ where students work to provide the solutions of the societal problems. In addition, core courses also have project based learning, NUV is also following innovative teaching practices like flipped model classrooms.
The up to date and excellent curriculum approved by renowned people in the country, approachable and helping attitude of the faulty, emphasizes on fundamentals, opportunity to conduct research based projects, in addition to traditional learning methodology, the hands on opportunity and innovative way of learning methods are key factors which imbibes among students the fundamental knowledge, tools and skills with the aim to produce professional and practice based engineers for helping the society.
From the pyramids of Egypt to the exploration of space, civil engineers have always faced the challenges of the future .Due to advancing civilization and improving our quality of life, today the world is undergoing vast changes. The technological revolution, population growth, environmental concerns and more all create unique challenges. The next decades will be the most creative, demanding and rewarding times for civil engineers and now is the best time to find out if civil engineering is the right career for you. You will be a person who accomplishes things. Service to the community, its development and improvement, is basically what civil engineering is all about. The opportunity for creativity is unlimited.
Being good at math and science certainly helps. However, if you enjoy figuring out solutions to problems and have a strong interest in math and science, that’s a good place to start. Remember that applying math and science to design solutions to real-life problems is nearly always more interesting than textbook work and, even if you are an average student in high school, you may excel in applying these skills.
Construction Engineering – Environmental Engineering – Geotechnical Engineering – Structural Engineering – Transportation Engineering – Urban Development – Water Resources
As a construction engineer, you turn designs into reality. You must manage construction projects so they are built right, completed on time and within budget. You apply your knowledge of construction methods, materials and equipment to turn the designs of other engineers into successful projects.
As an environmental engineer, you develop physical, chemical and biological processes to address environmental concerns. – You may provide safe drinking water, cleanup sites contaminated by hazardous materials, clean up and prevent air pollution, treat wastewater and manage solid wastes.
As a geotechnical engineer, you work to solve design problems related to earth materials. Examples of facilities in the earth are tunnels, deep foundations and pipelines. Highway pavements and buildings are facilities supported on the earth. As a geotechnical engineer, you conduct analyses based on the principles of science and mathematics to design facilities.
As a structural engineer, you design structures that can support their own weight and are safe even during extraordinary events like hurricanes, earthquakes and floods. You develop and use knowledge of the properties and behaviors of steel, concrete, aluminum, timber and plastic as well as new and exotic materials. To make certain that plans for stadiums, skyscrapers, bridges, office buildings and amusement park rides are being followed, you will often be on the construction site inspecting the work.
As a transportation engineer, you determine how to move people, goods and materials safely and efficiently. You design, construct and maintain highways, railroads, airfields and water ports. Your challenge is to find ways to meet increasing travel needs by improving existing transportation methods and discovering new ones.
As a professional in this area, you are concerned with the full development of a community as well as the redevelopment of older communities. You analyze a variety of information to coordinate projects, such as projecting street patterns, identifying park and recreation areas and determining areas for residential and industrial growth. Successful project coordination requires you to be people-oriented as well as technically knowledgeable.
As a water resources engineer, you deal with issues concerning the quality and quantity of water. – You work to prevent floods, supply water for cities, treat wastewater, protect beaches and manage and redirect rivers. – You may be involved in the design, construction or maintenance of hydroelectric power facilities, canals, dams, pipelines, pumping stations, locks or seaport facilities.
Civil Engineering is a wide and foundation branch of all the engineering. This includes the job options on construction site (site work), Design and analysis of structures (office job), government jobs at bridge and railways, highways, water and irrigation, Environmental consultants, Pollution control boards, etc.
Navrachana University believes in hands on practice. Here faculty encourage students to learn in project based learning and/or research based learning. Moreover, university has continues evaluation system in a transparent mode (open house for all the exams including final semester exams).
Students are industry ready after the completing Civil Engineering at Navrachana University. Students are learning different soft wares in for design and analysis of structures. Entrepreneurship makes them capable to start their own business. KHOJ helps them to understand their social responsibilities towards the society as a civil Engineer.
As it is a core branch, its demand is always going to be meant. Whether we may construction or any development, civil engineers will be required. based learning and different teaching pedagogy
The first year which is the foundation year includes basic knowledge of all the streams which will be helping across all engineering fields. Also our curriculum is updated as per industry requirement
Yes, in 7th and 8th semester. You have an option to choose specialization from multiple options. We don’t offer the whole class the same one.
Indeed, it’s been bliss to inform you about our training & placement cell for all students who wants to get an employment. The cell not only looks after campus recruitment but also enhances their skills. Also, university takes care of the students who are more interested in entrepreneurship.
