What options are available for M.Sc. after completion of this course?

After completing this three year B.Sc. life science course course students can apply for M.Sc. in Biotechnology/LifeSciences/Microbiology/Bioinformatics/Biomedical Science/Environmental Science/Zoology/Botany/Biochemistry/Medical Biotechnology/Biomedical Science anywhere in India or outside.

Apart from these M.Sc. courses, a B.Sc. Life science student can also apply for MBA, MHRM, MSW, LLB, IAS and IFS, Integrated Ph.D. programs in IISERs, IISC and other reputed Institutes.

What specialisations are available under Lifesciences? What are the major subjects to be studied?

A student who applies for B.Sc. Life Science subjects shall study common life Science courses and chemistry for the first two years. The third year student shall only study specialisation course that he or she has opted for. Specialisations available are: Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry and Microbiology.

Why Biotechnology is not available at B.Sc. but your University has M.Sc. in Biotechnology?

Biotechnology is a highly applied field of Life Sciences and thus B.Sc. graduates with Biotechnology at times are not preferred for placement owing to their over specialisation. Also, the foundation of basic courses is better established in other core specialisations and they stand equal in terms of getting admission in M.Sc. Biotechnology course hence there is almost no difference.
