Program Details

BBA Program at Navrachana University is a full-time, four-year innovative undergraduate degree program designed to provide students with an intensive experience in the field of management education. Students are taught basic concepts and theories of management, which help in developing their managerial and decision-making skills. Students have an option to exit after three year with a BBA degree or continue for the fourth year for a four year honors degree.  In addition to the regular management courses, the program offers a variety of interdisciplinary courses on Communication, Psychology, Critical Reasoning, and Business Ethics. Students are also encouraged to participate in business and management symposia and competitions. 

 

The program is designed to produce business executives, managers, and entrepreneurs with adequate theoretical and practical expertise for taking on challenging tasks in industry and their ventures. The program also focuses on developing the right kind of values, ethics, and attitude required for being a socially responsible citizen.  

The BBA program is divided into a mandatory course, discipline specific electives, and University elective area. The compulsory area includes, courses in management, social and corporate internships along with a research project. In addition, you must choose university electives from a specified catalogue. The elective area serves to acquire additional technical, interdisciplinary, and professional skills. Elective modules can be chosen from the entire range of Courses offered across NUV.  

 

Students enrolled in the BBA program will have extensive exposure to management education. Basic management ideas and concepts are taught to students, which aids in the development of their managerial and decision-making abilities. The program, which is based on a multidisciplinary approach, is carefully designed to combine practical experience with theoretical knowledge, equipping graduates for a variety of professional paths in research, industry, and academia. 

 

The core courses offered in the first years of the BBA program educate students on the many functional areas of business, enabling them to better understand their interests and options. The goal of these courses is to provide students a thorough grasp of the many business’s functional areas as well as the skills and knowledge necessary to manage them successfully in the specialization that they would select. 

 

The Domian specific electives are offered from the areas of Marketing, Finance, OB and HRM, Operations and International Business. During the last year of the course, the students are free to select from the variety of electives available to them. These electives aim to provide students a greater grasp of their specialisation through an industry connection and practical approach.  

In addition to the regular management courses, the program offers a variety of interdisciplinary courses on Communication, Psychology, Critical Reasoning, and Business Ethics. Each student has to undergo two credits-based, on– the–job internships: one of four weeks at the end of 1st year and another of eight weeks at the end of 2nd year. A semester-long research-based project (during the last semester) under the guidance of a domain expert is an integral part of the degree program. Both summer internship and research project provide an opportunity to the students to build a healthy and positive relationship with the corporate world and specifically with a prospective employer to pave the way for future placement.

Choice-based Curriculum

Navrachana University, a premier university in Vadodara, known for its innovative and forward-looking approaches to education has now implemented a choice-based curriculum for its students. It is aimed at transforming the student learning experience, empowering them to “tailor-make” their own degree.

The need of the hour today is to create highly skilled professionals who possess a broad-based outlook enabling them to collaborate, understand and empathize with larger sociocultural realities.

  • Choice-based curriculum empowers students to choose 10% of course credits of their choice from other domains.
  • The mandatory courses of one domain will become the elective courses in other domains.
  • For instance, a student of Engineering can study Architecture and Design courses and vice versa.

Minor discipline courses

Navrachana University offers its students’ the opportunity to pursue a Minor discipline along with their major degree program, following one’s interest, which facilitates the growth of additional skills. Minors are a means of diversifying the understanding of a topic and a reflection of who one is as an individual. For example, a student of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) can choose a minor in ‘Interior Design’.

To attain a Minor, the students will need to do 18 credit worth of courses designated to diversify interests and gain a professional edge!

KHOJ winter school program

The Khoj program has been one of the defining social immersion activities at Navrachana University. Conceived right during the inception of the University, the Khoj program was envisaged to be a vehicle to inculcate social awareness, empathy, and interdisciplinary skills among our students, with a larger aim of proposing solutions to societal problems through innovation, it is through intense, rigorous, and field-based activities that students come up with an increased sense of empathy and awareness towards their surroundings. This program was further strengthened by engaging on topics that are relevant and can be made visible to society at large, the program is conceived as a larger and more ambitious activity that is undertaken by students and faculty members during the semester break under the umbrella of KHOJ WINTER SCHOOL.

Social Immersion Program – Managers today have a larger responsibility towards society. Students of NUV BBA are required to undergo one-month full time social internship with NGOs or CSR department of a company for better understanding of various socio-developmental issues.   

Industry Internship – BBA students must do a two-month full-time industrial internship at the end. This internship helps students become industry ready by encouraging them to seek out real-world ideas from the business. The school offers hands-on training, internships, and job placements through partnerships with renowned national and international businesses. 

Both internships and other projects provide an opportunity for the students to build a healthy and positive relationship with the corporate world and specifically with a prospective employer to pave the way for future placement.  Over the years, the students of BBA have excelled by getting placed in reputed corporate, startups or consultancy firms, many have even opted for starting their own business ventures or prolifically joined their family business.   

Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to the BBA Program should have passed Higher Secondary School Certification or any other recognized examination considered equivalent to HSC in any stream with minimum 50% marks.   

 

An additional 5% relaxation for candidates under the following conditions:  

  • State or National Level Sports Player (for last one academic year)  
  • Belongs to SC/ST category 

Selection of the candidates for admission to the Program would be through an Entrance Test called BBA-NUVET (BBA-Navrachana University Entrance Test), followed by Evaluation of SOP (Statement of Purpose) and Personal Interaction.  

  • Weightage for BBA-NUVET, SOP, and Personal Interview is in proportion of 50%, 10% and 40% respectively.  

 

A) BBA-NUVET Syllabus 
 BBA-NUVET Shall comprise of 4 Sections, as follows:   

  • SECTION – I – English Language & Comprehension  
  • SECTION – II – Logical and Analytical Ability  
  • SECTION – III – Numerical Ability  
  • SECTION – IV – General Awareness  

 Each of the above section will be of 25 Marks  

Total Marks: 100 

Duration: 120 Minutes  

Weightage 50 % 

B) Result Declaration of BBA-NUVET 
 The result and Merit List will be declared within one week from the date of BBA-NUVET through Email on the Registered Email ID.  

The candidate will be invited for personal interaction and document verification to the campus as per schedule.    

C) SOP (Statement of Purpose) 
 Candidates are required to write a SOP answering the following two questions.   

  • Why the candidate desires to apply for BBA Program  
  • Why the candidate desires to take admission in Navrachana University  

The minimum word limit is 150 and the Maximum is 500  

Candidates are expected to express their opinions with full integrity and originality.   

Weightage 10%. 

D) Personal Interaction 
 Candidates passing the BBA_NUVET will be invited for a Personal Interaction.  

The interaction will comprise an introduction and Questions related to Current Affairs, Courses Studied in HSC, analytical thinking, aptitude, attitude, and communication skills.    

Weightage 40%.  

Limited number of Merit cum Need Scholarships are available to meritorious students with a score of over 70% marks in HSc exam. These scholarships are offered to students whose parent’s combined income does not exceed Rs 8 lakh per year. Interested candidates must meet Admin Department after seeking admission.

Pre- Teaching Sessions at the beginning of every semester.  

Pre-teaching sessions, conducted at the beginning of every semester, serve as vital preparatory sessions aimed at providing students with foundational knowledge and essential skills necessary for success in their upcoming courses. These sessions typically encompass a variety of activities and discussions designed to orient students, set academic expectations, and foster a conducive learning environment.

2. Course Audit every month 

A monthly course audit is a systematic review process conducted to assess the progress and effectiveness of ongoing courses.

Academic Advisory Board consists of Program matter experts who provide guidance, expertise, and innovative pedagogy and continuous improvement within the academic.

Students can attend finance conclave, HR Conclave, Marketing Conclave where you may network with industry professionals and learn valuable strategies for your future. 

The school has established tie-ups with various organisations such as EXIM Club, CII, ISTD, FGI & BMA to offer study programs that would help the students to gain broad perspectives in their chosen field of study.
