Dr. Nirav Patel is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering with over a decade of experience in academia and also blend of 8 years in industry. He is passionate about fostering innovative learning methodologies and has made significant contributions to the field through his roles in various organizations and his extensive research work.
He also serves as Director: Admissions and Outreach. His involvement in admissions and outreach activities highlights his commitment to shaping the future of education.
Teaching Philosophy:
Dr. Patel’s teaching methodology is application-oriented and grounded in practice-oriented theory, ensuring the development of buildable systems. At Navrachana University, he teaches a blend of subjects including structural analysis and design, estimation, and various electives. His student-centered approach actively engages students in skill acquisition, promoting excellence and inspiring them to achieve their best through practical applications, interactive sessions, and real-world case studies. He aims to cultivate a dynamic learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and critical thinking among students.
Scholarship and Accomplishments
- In 2O1O, Nirav Patel received first place in the Earthquake Quiz at IIT Kanpur. He has several research papers published in both national and international To stay current, he has attended a number of national level seminars and workshops.
- His teaching methodology is application-oriented and grounded in a practice-oriented theory that ensures build-able systems, thanks to his extensive industry He is particularly interested in performance- based design for new buildings and ensures that theory and practice are well-connected. He teaches a blend of subjects at Navrachana University, including structural analysis and design, estimation, and construction technology, and ensures that classroom education is practice-oriented. The teaching-learning process, as well as a student-centered approach that actively engages students in the acquisition of skills that improve and promote excellence, inspire him.
