Background
Mayanta Tandel is presently working as a Teaching Assistant with the School of Environmental Design and Architecture (SEDA), Navrachana University, Vadodara, India. My educational journey began at G.R.E.M. School, Vadodara, followed by Shannen Higher Secondary, Ahmedabad (2016–2018), and I completed my Bachelor of Architecture from Navrachana University (2020–2025).
Teaching
Architecture has always fascinated me, not just as a discipline of design, but as a powerful force that shapes how people live, move, and feel every day. I am deeply drawn to the idea that with every space we create, we influence countless moments in someone’s life. The philosophy and process behind achieving that impact continue to inspire me. Beginning my journey as an architect at Navrachana University, and now stepping into the role of a Teaching Assistant, has given me a meaningful head start, pushing me to explore, experiment, and nurture my skills while laying the foundation for a purposeful career in architecture.

Research
At SEDA, Navrachana University, my thesis “Examining the Potential of Local Fish Scale Waste and Wild Fungi Species for Advancing Mycelium-Based Material Development” combined architecture, material science, and microbiology to explore sustainable, innovative building materials. This interdisciplinary research allowed me to push creative and scientific boundaries, transforming local waste into possibilities for the future of architectural design.
