After completing this three year B.Sc course students can apply for M.Sc in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry/Biotechnology /Environmental Science/ Biochemistry anywhere in India or outside. Apart from these M.Sc courses, a B.Sc Chemistry student can also apply for MBA, MHRM, MSW, LLB, IAS and IFS, Integrated Ph.D programs in IISERs,, IISC and other reputed Institutes.
Students who opt for chemistry as their specialisation have two groups to opt from. Those from Biology group in their std 12th have to study Chemistry, Botany and Zoology for the first two years while students from maths group have to study Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics for the first two years. The final year students of both these groups study only Chemistry as specialisation.
This course is designed in a way that it caters to the current and challenging needs of chemical and pharmaceutical industries, manufacturing units and paint as well as tyre industries. It is also developed with a view of getting very good opportunities for those who aspire to study abroad. Students shall be well equipped with various additional interdisciplinary inputs that will help them get jobs or plan for higher studies anywhere in India and abroad.
