The School of Science focuses on disciplinary plus a wide range of interdisciplinary courses to broaden students’ perspectives and knowledge in the Sciences. The high-quality programs are conducted by qualified teachers, along with guest faculty members from the industry, subject experts, and independent researchers. The school also collaborates with industry for research and development on real life projects, making students industry ready.

A robust placement assistance program bridges the gap between the student’s aspirations and industry expectations. Some of the leading companies in pharmaceuticals and clinical research employ students from School of Science at NUV.

A unique five-year program, the Integrated BSc-MSc Analytical Chemistry is designed to equip students for the exciting and rapidly growing field of Chemistry, specifically Analytical Chemistry. It is a future-ready comprehensive chemistry program with an integration of courses on artificial intelligence, cheminformatics, drug discovery and development, medicinal chemistry, nano-therapeutics, and sustainable materials for clean energy, environment, and healthcare. A thorough curriculum that creates a seamless bridge between theoretical foundations and practical applications. Students will develop a deep conceptual understanding of chemistry principles while simultaneously engaging in hands-on laboratory experiences, real-world problem-solving, and research-driven learning. Through hands-on experimentation, instrumentation training, data interpretation, and exposure to contemporary industrial and societal challenges, learners translate abstract concepts into tangible skills.

The Academic Advisory Board regularly reviews the curriculum to make sure it is current and relevant to the most recent developments in the academia and industry.

With a broad focus on all the key skills needed by a student in both disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas, this program is designed to provide high quality education and training in the field of analytical chemistry to fulfil the future demands of research and technology development in various industrial areas like pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, fertilizers, petrochemicals, oil and gas, polymers, agrochemicals, pesticides, paints and coatings, dyes and dyestuff, in India, as well as abroad.

The Integrated BSc-MSc Analytical Chemistry with its research-centric curriculum sparks scientific creativity, sharpens critical thinkingandproblem-solvingabilities among students for translation of scientific knowledge and principles to resolve real world issues.

Furthermore, collaborations with national, international universities and industry centres foster hands-on training, skill development and employability; all while giving them a solid foundation in Chemistry. The program places itself at the forefront of Chemistry research and education through strategic partnerships and an innovative curriculum for hands-on training and skill development that empowers the students (leaders of tomorrow) to shape their future.

The Integrated BSc-MSc Analytical Chemistry is designed to provide a comprehensive and vertically integrated education in chemical sciences with a strong emphasis on analytical methodologies. The curriculum is structured to ensure progressive academic rigor, conceptual depth, and professional relevance across five years of study.

The program comprises core and major courses in Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, and Scientific Enquiry and Research Methodology. These courses establish a robust theoretical and experimental foundation essential for advanced training in analytical chemistry. Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary elective courses, offered through a choice-based curriculum, enable students to broaden their academic exposure and develop competencies across allied domains. A common foundation program in humanities, environment and climate change, critical thinking, research, and data science further strengthens students’ holistic development. University electives are selected from an approved catalogue to ensure academic coherence and institutional standards.

The curriculum emphasizes the integration of theory with practice through structured laboratory courses, internship trainings, and collaborative research projects with faculty and industry partners. Advanced elective modules allow students to pursue specialized areas such as AI and Machine Learning for Chemists, Multi-Omics for Chemists, Drug Delivery Systems, Regulatory Affairs and GMP, Materials Chemistry, Polymers and Biomaterials, Nanoscience, Industrial Hygiene and Safety, Intellectual property rights, and environmental impact assessment.

Students are regularly exposed to contemporary developments in the chemical and analytical sciences through seminars, expert lectures, and thematic workshops.

The capstone component of the program is a guided research dissertation at the master’s level, wherein students undertake independent research, demonstrate methodological competence, and contribute to knowledge creation in analytical chemistry.

Graduates of the Integrated BSc-MSc Analytical Chemistry acquire strong disciplinary knowledge, advanced analytical skills, research aptitude, and transferable competencies required to excel in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals and allied industrial sectors. The program aligns with national higher education frameworks and adheres to outcome-based education principles to ensure academic quality, relevance, and continuous improvement.

Choice-based Curriculum

Navrachana University, a premier university in Vadodara, known for its innovative and forward-looking approaches to education has now implemented a choice-based curriculum for its students. It is aimed at transforming the student learning experience, empowering them to “tailor-make” their own degree.

The need of the hour today is to create highly skilled professionals who possess a broad-based outlook enabling them to collaborate, understand and empathize with larger sociocultural realities.

  • Choice-based curriculum empowers students to choose 10% of course credits of their choice from other domains.
  • The mandatory courses of one domain will become the elective courses in other domains.
  • For instance, a student of Engineering can study Architecture and Design courses and vice versa.

Minor discipline courses

Navrachana University offers its students’ the opportunity to pursue a Minor discipline along with their major degree program, following one’s interest, which facilitates the growth of additional skills. Minors are a means of diversifying the understanding of a topic and a reflection of who one is as an individual. For example, a student of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) can choose a minor in ‘Interior Design’.

To attain a Minor, the students will need to do 18 credit worth of courses designated to diversify interests and gain a professional edge!

List of Minors

Health Science | Computer Science & Engineering | Business Law | Interior Design | General Management | Mechatronics | Film Production

KHOJ winter school program

The Khoj program has been one of the defining social immersion activities at Navrachana University.
