In our highly flexible Bachelor of Design program, we believe in learning by doing, and a major portion of the curriculum focuses on hands on learning. By following the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach, we ensure emphasis is given to the thought process, rather than final output. Through the program, students will enjoy the benefits of working at our state-of-the-art facilities, like the SEDA Material Lab, wood workshop, pottery and photography labs.
The Bachelor of Interior Design program introduces and develops the skills and knowledge necessary for contemporary design practice.The programme originated from understanding the growing need for trained interior designers in our society. All courses in B. Design Program are curated to aid the process of Design, Visualization and Making.Â
By focusing on specific aspects of interior design, such as attention to interiority with appropriate material knowledge, the course is also designed with an objective to widen students’ knowledge, to help cultivate the right kind of values, ethics and attitude required for being a socially responsive citizen. This includes in-depth studies about societies and its historic context in different regions of India and beyond, international influences and the evolving values of our society, art and craft of different regions, the changing economy, and increasing awareness about the environment. The Interior Design program provides a balanced focus on process, as well as project-based learning through Space Planning, Residential, Adaptive Reuse, Retail and Furniture Design, supplemented by technical and skill-based courses.
Each year, study tours are organized to conduct a relative study program for development of important skills like sketching, photography, documentation and hands-on knowledge of construction techniques. Â
