Navrachana University (NUV) offers academic programs leading to the award of PhD Degree through its Schools/Programs.

The PhD degree is awarded to a scholar based on extensive and original research done in his/her chosen field. The University encourages research leading to PhD degree with focus on Interdisciplinary Research for the ‘creation and addition of knowledge’ and to address complex scientific and socially relevant problems via integration of knowledge from multiple and disparate fields.

APPLICATION PROCESS
For admission to PhD program (Jan – July 2021 Intake),
candidates need to register and fill the application form ONLINE only.
Online application last date 18 December 2020 
Announcement of list of eligible candidates 21 December  2020 
Date of entrance exam Tues, 22 Dec – 2020 (Written Test: 4-5-6 pm)
Thurs, 24 Dec – 2020 (Viva; Presentation : 3 pm onward)
Announcement of selected candidates Sat, 26 December 2020 
Last date for fees payment 12 January 2021

Entrance Examination

  •  The entrance exam will comprise of an entrance test and viva.
  • The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of
    • 50% of research methodology (It will also test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate).
    • 50% shall be subject specific.
  • The entrance test shall be qualifying with qualifying percentage as 50%.
  • The list of candidates clearing the entrance test shall be declared on the notice board / website of the University.
  • An interview/viva-voce will be organized where the candidates will be required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation.
  • The final selection of candidates (in order of merit) will be done on the basis of the performance of candidates in the entrance examination based on following criteria
  • Weightage of 70% to the entrance test and weightage of 30% to performance in the interview/ viva-voce.
